AMATEUR HOUR CONTEST 2007 Eligibility Requirements and Rules
1.
JUNIOR DIVISION - Pre School thru Fifth Grade.

MIDDLE SCHOOL DIVISION - Sixth Grade thru Eighth Grade.
3.
SENIOR DIVISION - Ninth Grade thru Twelfth Grade.

A group’s division is determined by the grade level of the oldest contestant. For example: a Junior division contestant enters with a group and one or more contestants are Middle School Division, the group will be entered in Middle School Division. If a Junior or Middle School Division contestant enters with a Senior Division contestant, they will be entered in the Senior Division.
5.
A soloist’s division is determined by the grade level of the contestant.
6.
A contestant may only enter twice, once as a single contestant and once as a group member.
7.
Contestants’ cannot enter as a duplication. For example: there can be only one tryout for each act.
8.
All acts will be limited to a five (5) minute performance time.
9.
All contestants must furnish live or a recorded accompaniment. A recorded accompaniment should be at the beginning of a standard CD labeled with the contestant’s name. The West Side Nut Club is not responsible for recordings left behind. Note: The recorded accompaniment for all singing acts must not have any background vocals.
10.
Contestants must not have contracted or received a salary or pay for performing their talent act prior to the WSNC tryout or Festival.
11.
A contribution to the child, parent, or school for costuming, training, or to a designated charity will not disqualify a contestant.
12.
Contestants may be from out of the County or State.
13.
Bands are required to set up and be ready to perform in fifteen (15) minutes with a maximum performance time of five (5) minutes.
14.
Any type of talent (of a moral nature) is acceptable.
15.
If selected to perform in both a group and a solo act, the contestant will perform on different nights at the Festival.
16.
Acts must use the same costumes and the same group members during the live performances on stage during the Festival.
17.
A previous Festival winner in any division cannot participate in that division again, even with different group members.
18.
Any Contestant violating the above rules will be disqualified.
The chairman of the Amateur Hour committee will have final determination of all rules. **Acts selected to participate in the Festival will be notified by mail at least one (1) week before the Festival begins.**
**There will be a keyboard provided for your use at tryouts if necessary, but if you are chosen to advance to the Fall Festival you will have to provide your own keyboard for your performance.
