MD Mileage Team, Vectren Workers, and Joe Beck Saluted
The Mater Dei Super Mileage Team along with Vectren workers and Past President Joe Beck were saluted by the West Side Nut Club at their November 8 meeting at Resurrection School
The Super Mileage team which recieves sponsorship dollars from the West Side Nut Club presented their team and awards to the members. They discussed what it takes to build, run, and compete a supermileage car. The team has recieved several podium finishes at competitions in which they compete against high schools as well as several technical colleges from across the country.
Workers from Vectren Corporation were also honored for their work during the Fall Festival when a transformer blew cutting power to a block of food booths as well as stage two which was to hold nighlty entertainment. The workers: Mike Singer , Jon Luttrell, and Doug O'Meara worked tirelessly and got power restored. Vectren also added in festival setup by supplying their lift trucks for use in getting the 126 food booths that line Franklin Street hooked up to the electric lines.
In a final presentation, Past President Joe Beck was given a plaque from the Evansville Fire Department for his help in obtaining a M.U.L.E that can assist in rescues and emergencies. The picture on the right shows Nut Club Member Jesse Storey, also a veteran of the Evansville Fire Department, in front of the M.U.L.E. at last October's Fall Festival.
