The 2006 West Side Nut Club Foundation Scholarship Recipient from Mater Dei High School is Emily Weinzapfel. Emily was involved with many different school activities at Mater Dei and the community including Peers Project, Student Ambassador, St. Philips School and Social Volunteer, and was the Captain of the Mater Dei Girls Basketball Team. She also received the Maria Goretti Award from her Pastor and Director of Religious Education. She graduated with a 3.2 G.P.A.
