As soon as the signal to close down was given, members of the west Side Nut Club went into action. It started with the electrical committee working through the night disconnecting the 126 food booths that lined West Franklin Street.
Shortly before sunrise, the rest of the members came in to clean and scrub the streets and sidewalks, pick up and rake the library grounds, put down fresh grass seed, and pick up trash in the neighborhoods that surround the area. By mid afternoon Sunday there was no hint that over 300,000+ people visited the Fall Festival. Committees are already starting to plan for the 89th annual fall festival in 2010.
